Peruvian agricultural exports to Sweden increased in volume and value, mainly driven by coffee.

Swedish imports of agricultural products reached US$1,149 million in the first quarter of 2022, 10% above 2021. Its main suppliers were the Netherlands, Spain and Germany. Meanwhile, Peru came to position itself as the tenth agricultural supplier of the Swedes: 5,686 tons for US$ 28 million. This was 70% more in volume and double in value.

The main Peruvian product that Sweden bought was coffee, with 4,757 tons purchased for US$25 million. That is, 56% more in volume and more than double in value than what was registered during the first three months of 2021. The price that was handled in this market was US$ 5.21 per kilogram, 42% more than the previous year. It should be noted that this product represented 84% of all shipments to this country, and with this, Peru was able to position itself as the second supplier of this product, even below Brazil.

Another of the Peruvian products acquired was quinoa. Peru sent 84 tons for US$190,000, 44% more in volume and 39% more in value compared to the first three months of 2021. However, the price fell by 4%, when it settled in US$ 2.25 per kilogram. On the other hand, Peru was the main supplier of this grain, above the Netherlands and Italy.
