Agrarians of Kazakhstan’s Turkestan Region Belatedly Started Sowing Watermelons and Melons (Mar 13)

In the Zhetysu district of the Turkestan region, farmers began sowing gourds. Farmers traditionally start sowing watermelons and melons at the end of February. In 2023 sowing work began 10-15 days late due to weather conditions, Farmers in the rural districts of Zh. Eraliyeva, Atameken, Kyzylkum, Yntymak, Zhana aul, Zhyly su, and Kazybek bi, who took advantage of the warming, planted gourds on 93 hectares. Of these, 75 hectares were melons, and 18 hectares by watermelons.
