MEXICO AUTHORIZES IMPORTS OF ARGENTINE MEAT AFTER 20 YEARS

The government of Argentina reported on November 12th that Mexican authorities approved the opening of its market to boneless beef from Argentina, after eight years of negotiations and two decades of remaining closed the export of this product to the Mexican nation. Inspectors of the National Service for Health, Safety, and Food Quality of Mexico (SENASICA) verified that Senasa’s control system complies with the highest health and food safety standards demanded by Mexico. Senesa (National Food Safety and Quality Service) authorized 22 processing plants to export bovine meat products from Argentina. Both health services are adjusting details to agree on the animal health requirements that will appear in the health certificate that will guarantee the shipments.
