Turkey
In 2022, the raspberry harvest season in Turkey began in August and ended in September. Growers increased their prices at the start of the 2022 season, causing traders to seek alternative solutions such as importing more than usual from some Eastern European countries. However, raspberry prices in Turkish markets have dropped to USD 4.56/kg in W49, compared to USD 7.51/kg at the start of the season. Traders who have imported raspberries are concerned about this scenario and are waiting until the stock in the domestic market runs out so that the price level rises again. Additionally, raspberry imports are expected to be halted until the end of 2022.

High Demand for Korean Strawberries in Indonesia for the Christmas and New Year Festive Season (Dec 13)

In W48 and W49 Korean premium strawberries sold for around USD 12/330-gram packaging in the retail market. Due to the niche market, the Korean strawberry import volume was low, influencing the high pricing. In 2021, the total import volume was 3,463.47 MT for fresh strawberries (HS Code 08101000) with POD Soekarno Hatta – Jakarta Airport from 4 main origins: Australia, South Korea, the US, and China. Meanwhile, in 2022, the total import of fresh strawberries with the same HS Code has been merely 2,552 MT until the end of October 2022, with all of them targeting the Jakarta market.
