The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) released its annual Food Fraud report in W11, highlighting its efforts to tackle food fraud and ensure the safety and accuracy of food products. The agency tested the authenticity of six commonly misrepresented foods, including fish, honey, meat, olive oil, expensive oils, and spices. The testing showed a high rate of compliance for most foods, with meat being a new addition with a compliance rate of 99.1%. When a potential food fraud was discovered, the CFIA took action, preventing over 100T of misrepresented food from being sold in Canada.
